Samkshipta Ramayanam Uploaded

Dear all,

Hari Om !

By Rama’s grace, I have typed in the Samkshipta Ramayanam using the Indic Scripts and created a downloadable PDF file. I have uploaded it in the DOWNLOADS section (which is to the right of this page). Please download it.

I have been listening to the rendition of Samkshipta Ramayanam by Sri HH China Jeeyar Swamy and it is like nectar in my ears.  I hope you are all listening to it too !

Many visitors have requested the mp3 files of MS Rama Rao gari Sundarakanda. When I initially started this web-site, I thought it feasible. But Hari has strictly told me not to post any copyrighted material. So, I am sorry I will not be able to post audio of Sundarakanda. You can download .rm files which I think are available at other web-sites.

I will redo the proof-reading and correct mistakes in Samkshipta Ramayanam. Parayanam of this text is equal to the whole Ramayana Parayanam.

Jai Sri Rama !

In Service of the Lord,

Uddhava Gita and Vedanta Dindima – Swami Tattvavidananda

As some of you know, we attended the Arsha Vidya Gurukulam (AVG) retreat last ThanksGiving day (November 2006). Swami Tattvavidananda had conducted this retreat. He stayed in the US till January 2007. During his stay, he visited many places like Canada and Mexico where he delivered “wonderful” and “vairagya-inducing” lectures on “Uddhava Gita” ( Lord Sri Krishna to Uddhava) and “Vedanta Dindima” (of Sri Adi Sankaracharya). These discourses are very enchanting and wonderful. Everyday we would put on his audio and listen to it doing whatever household work we have. They are short (generally 1.5 hrs) and full of nectar. I can’t describe in words how much Swamiji has influenced our daily thoughts and actions through his vast and deep insights, humorous anecdotes and stern advices.

Please download these audio , which are freely available, on the AVG website. I am giving the links here so readers can follow these links. Please do listen to them. You will get the grasp of some of the Fundamental Truths so instantaneously through his powerful talks. Hari and I love to re-listen to them many times, even though we heard them all.

Also, if anyone of you are in US, please consider attending Swamiji’s retreat this year in September or Novemeber 2007. Please check their main website for the schedule of retreats for the year – 2007. If you could not find on their website, please contact one of them and request for a copy.

NEW !! Tyagaraja Kritis

For a recent update of this post, view the latets post: Download Tyagaraja Kriti Lyrics

Dear fellow-seekers,

I have added a new category on “Tyagaraja Kritis”. In this category I will post the Tyagaraja Kritis in both Telugu and also English fonts. This consists of the Kritis composed by Tyagaraja. Since I am not a musician,  I do not present any raagas or talas in which these are sung. I will add lyrics, both in Telugu and English, and also the meaning, so one who sings these can sing them with full understanding of their meaning, which cultivates devotion to Rama in our heart.

Let us bear it in our hearts that, knowledge of music, though very fine, but devoid of Bhakti, is useless and does not take us any near to Rama. Even if we are devoid of the knowlede of music, and yet if we possess pure faith and devotion to Rama’s feet, that will take us to Him. It is only “Bhava” that is important, not the “Knowledge of Music”.

Thanks,
Aparna Hari

Online Sundarakanda of Tulsidas

With great pleasure, I would like to inform that the Sundarakanda of the Great Saint, Goswami Tulsidas is available now on this web page. As you all know, Goswami Tulsidas has written Ramcharitmanas in “Avadhi” dialect. The english meanings or translations are taken from the Gita Press, Gorakhpur book of Ramacharitmanas. The proof-reading of this (typo mistakes and other errors) needs to be undertaken yet and present this in a readable and enjoyable form to whoever browses this page. The entire Sundarakanda is divided into 5 pages, each page consisting of 12 choupais each.

Thank you.

Design and Construction In Progress

We want to thank the many visitors to the site (We are happy that the hits have increased in significant number over the last week). As many of you might have observed, this site is still in the construction phase. We are slowly filling in the information. Our aim, to reach which, we will put all our best efforts, is to make your browsing experience on this site a valuable and exciting experience. We do not want to be limited by language or region. We have already made a list of some of the devotional texts that we will be placing here. Typing them in the INDIC fonts is taking a bit of time. While Hari is assiting me with writing the content for the Saints Pages and also typing in the english meanings for the texts that we want to place, I am busy with writing the Indic Scripts and making a list of the valuable devotional literature and the way of acquiring them, if we don’t have them. As you might have already observed, the pages for Sant Tulsidas, Bammera Potana and Swami Sivananda are complete. Hari is working on the other pages, but he is pressed for time currently. Also, please note that, we are trying to put many devotional texts online under the page “Online Devotional Works” to the left under the “PAGES” section. Presently, we are working on Tulsidas Sundarakanda, along with the english meanings, and we completed 24 “Chaupais” of them. Our near goals are “ Govinda Damodara Stotram” by Bilvamangala Thakur or LeelaSuka, “Gajendra Moksham” by Bammera Potana (with its english meanings if possible), “Gayatri Ramayanam”, “Narayaniyam”, “Saranaagathi Gadyam”, “Bheemeswara Satakam”, by my great-grandfather, “Alvandar Stotram”, “Tiruppavai”, “Sankshipta Ramayanam” and much more. We are slowly working towards it, although I should confess that my current laptop is giving me lot of problems, which I plan to replace with a new one. Also, we plan to add more pages devoted to Saints, as there are many saints who have appeared for our benefit.

Regarding the music upload, we think we need to be more cautious so as not to violate the copyrights. We have many tracks and CDs, casettes, full of devotional audio, but we want to make sure that there are no copyrights violated if we plan to upload them. In this context, we are planning to contact Ramakrishna Mission authorities for their kind permission to upload one or two bhajans of Swami DivyaVratananda, whose voice is full of devotion and who has sung some of the sweetest devotional bhajans I have ever heard. Please watch out for that section also. All the Online Devotional Works will also be converted into PDFs for user download. And if users want a prticular text to be written in INDIC (even if it is Gujarati, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam or any Indian Language), please do not hesitate to contact us. We will be more than glad to get this work done, as we feel that typing a devotional text will reinforce our devotion to Lord, through the beauty of devotional literature.

Sundarakanda of Sri MS Rama Rao

OM!

As some of you know, Sri MS Rama Rao has written Sundarakanda of Valmiki Ramayana in Telugu and has sung it with utmost devotion. I have an immense respect for Sri MS Rama Rao as he is an ardent devotee of Lord Rama and Hanuman. I have, by HIS grace, by-hearted the Sundarakanda and have written it down in telugu so anyone could learn it. I made a PDF file and placed it in the “DOWNLOADS” section. Also the two parts of telugu Sundarakanda are uploaded in the “DOWNLOADS” category in .mp3 format.

I have searched for more information on Sri MS Rama Rao on the internet. He is also from Rajuhmundry (which gives me an occasion to rejoice!). I hope I get a chance to meet any of his descendents, who are very blessed. I will try to find more information on this divine personality and post it on this site.

Note:

The Lyrics of Sundarakanda and Hanuman Chalisa are no longer available for Download. Please contact MS Rama Rao Memorial trust for the same.
